Day 4 has been very uneventful for Claire however I can't say the same for the NICU, 3 more babies were admitted today which means that sadly we didn't have as much one on one time with her because it was just chaos. Thankfully she slept most of the day so I wasn't completely disappointed. I did get to hold her skin-to-skin for 2 hours this morning though which was just awesome.
She has had an IV in both hands and feet and today the one in her foot was no good so they had to put it in her scalp. She looks just pitiful but more comfortable not to have it in one of her extremities.
Last night they took the feeding tube out of her mouth and put one in her nose. Now we can start working on putting her to the breast and using bottles. We tried the bottle today and she ate a couple cc's before tiring out. It is a start and great that she is even sucking. I am so proud of her!
They checked her bilirubin levels again today and they are still great so we have not had to start the lights again. Hoping that it continues because it means less time we get to spend with her.
Dylan and I went in around dinner to visit her and she was sound asleep on her back with both legs straight up in the air. It was the most hilarious thing. I need to take a picture of her feet because her foot is the length of my pointer finger. The longest foot ever! Totally not proportional from the rest of her little body.
She is getting stronger and stronger and cuter and cuter every day!
