What are you doing today?

Carly has been writing in her Betty Boop journal all day. I am seriously going to have to save it for her when she is an adult because she carries it and a crayon around everywhere and records things. It is hilarious.
Clay is going somewhere, not sure where but he kinda looks like a hobo with his camo hat and his sand pail as a backpack. (Don't worry I took it off him, he did not choke) He did scream at me when I took it off and would put it back on. Seriously need to get the kid a backpack!
Hope y'all are having as good a day as us!

Obbsessive

I am the most obsessive person. I don't obsessive over my life but rather TV shows, famous people etc.

My newest obsession is "Greek." It is a TV show that was on the ABC Family channel but is no longer on the air. I found it on netflix and am starting it over for the 3rd.... yes I said 3rd time. It ranks right up there with FRIENDS for me. I love everything about it, the characters, cute boys, and story. It makes me wish I had lived up my college experience a little bit more. I am definitely not a sorority kinda girl but this show makes me wish that I had rushed and joined a sorority, though I would have hated it because it is not my personality.  Definitely suggest that you try it, and you will most definitely LOVE it.

My other obsession is pinterest. I love that I can find the coolest blogs and greatest recipes in one spot. I have so many new recipes I plan on trying next month and can not wait. There are also endless ideas on fun activities to do with your kids, we have already tried a few and have a long list of more to try.

Last obsession is cute knit hats for babies. I am searching Etsy for the right one because if this baby is for sure a girl I am going to have her in cute hats all the time! Both Carly and Clay love hats even now so we are going to make sure baby #3 loves them too!  Here is a link to my favorite one so far!

Flower Girl

Carly was a flower girl in one of Dylan's best friends weddings back in September and I just now got to see some of the pictures.  I have to say she might be the cutest flower girl EVER. She wasn't quite 3 yet at the time and I was not sure how she was going to do but she did a great job. She walked down with Chase's niece but once down there decided that she wanted to play with flowers and then come find me. She ended up sitting the ceremony with me but it was actually cute watching her leave the  ceremony. Then she danced the night away with the other little kids. Great first experience and now she gets to be in her Uncle Mitch's wedding in October.

Park Play-date

My goal until this new baby gets here is to try to expose Carly to as much as possible.  I know how hard it is to get out with a new baby and not mention with 3 kids so we are on a weekly plan to do field trips in Austin and surrounding areas.

We started off the fun with a trip to the San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. It was always one of my favorites as a little kid and it seems to only have gotten better. It looks almost exactly as I remember it, which is really refreshing. My good friend Corinne and Cari came along with their kids, making it a perfect morning.

We played on playscapes, fed the wild crazy ducks, had a picnic lunch and then let the kids play on the amazing wooden play ground.  The kids seemed to have a good time and I had a great time taking pictures and watching the kids interact. Carly and Kayden have been playing together since before they could walk and it is so fun to watch then now 3 years later.  The other 3 kids are all a within a few months apart. Avery is the oldest, then Clay and then Connor man.

Can't wait for next week! I am taking the kids to the fire station! I have never been before either so very excited.

That's How we Roll!

Carly has recently started showing interest in wanting to do a forward roll. Being the awesome mom that I am I have not even attempted to teach her but instead have let her just play and try to do it herself. Well after a few days she has just about perfected it. So glad that I haven't paid $50 in gym fee's when she is a self taught gymnast!! haha

The kids got to try cotton candy for the first time yesterday and they were NOT fans. Carly ate a couple bites and then told me it was, "too weird." Clay just let it dissolve in his hands.  I was never much a fan either but as a kid you have to at least try it right??!!!

Yesterday we played out side all day practically and Clay got into the water table that I didn't realize had nasty rain water in it. Needless to say both kids were drenched before I had a chance to stop them, so I didn't and let them play in it.

Last, we are really trying to work on our alphabet here at the Thompson house and Carly is doing so good. There are only a few that she doesn't know all the time and they are all lowercase, she knows all the uppercase letters! She makes me so proud!!!

Valentines Day

Did I mention how much it stinks that my husband is on call for fun holidays. I keep seeing everyone's awesome posts about their great dinner menu's for tonight etc etc etc.  Oh you crappy on-call schedule. Seriously though, just thankful that he has such a great job and that we get lots of overtime all week long!!!

I have been craving Freebirds so bad lately. I use to eat it like 2-3x a week when I lived in college station but am lazy about driving to Austin for it until I heard that one opened in Round Rock next to the outlet mall!!! I loaded the kids up today and we went and ate there. Dylan was going to try and meet us for a little Vday lunch but got called out at 10:15!! Boo!! Either way the kids and I had a great time and it was just as delicious as the last time I ate it.

Since being on bed rest and then the weather just not being all that wonderful, my kids have been deprived of the awesome outdoors.  Today after we ate lunch we stopped at the Williamson County park on the way home. I seriously love that park. I love all the open fields, the playground (Clay can climb and play and I am not paranoid that he is going to fall and break his neck) and the awesome running trail. It is going to have to start being a weekly thing for us.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting Ready for Valentine's day

I seriously think I am the worst mom when it comes to planning and preparing fun stuff for holidays. I always have these great ideas and then wait to long to do them. Then I find out at the last minute that I am missing a couple items in order to make them.  What that means is that the cute Valentines Day present for Dylan isn't going to be quite so cute and these Valentines that we were going to mail to our friends will not be mailed.  Another Valentines day Fail!

Dylan is on call for almost every holiday this year and Valentines Day is one of them. We celebrated yesterday instead.  I dragged him to go see, "The Vow," which was super cute and a must see if you like chick-flicks. Rachel McAdams is my girl crush and Channing Tatum is just gorgeous. Dylan was a super sport about the whole thing too. Then we ate a super romantic dinner at Pluckers, nothing better than eating  hot spicy wings for Valentines day. It was great just to be able to have a couple hours to ourselves.  Next movie on my list is going to be Hunger Games and then The Lucky One. So excited about another Nicholas Sparks movie!

In other boring news, the kids woke up this morning with runny noses and little coughs. Nothing better than getting sick just when it should start getting warm again. Today has been a pajama party kinda day. We made biscuit pizza and then had a picnic on the floor. So far a great start to the week.
