Tuesday we ventured out to Garden of the Gods. I was super excited to see this place after reading about it. Apparently though I don't think things through entirely because 9:00 in Colorado is not the best time to go outside. It was freezing and there was still snow and ice covering everything. The wind was so intense that you could barely walk against it. I had Clint bundled in 2 layers of clothes and a blanket on him and I was still so worried. Both of the middles fell on the ice. It was a definite fail! We left and went to the museum and gift shop instead.

The museum was really neat and the kids loved learning about all the animals that inhabit the area.
They had a viewing deck and the view was seriously so breathtaking. Pictures don't even do it justice.
Then we headed to Manitou Springs for lunch and to go to the Cliff Dwellings. Manitou Springs is a super cute little town right outside of Colorado Springs. I loved walking the downtown streets. Reminded me of something out of a movie. We found a little hole in the wall pizza place for lunch and of course were the only ones there. That seemed to be a pattern throughout the entire vacation.
Next we headed to the Cliff Dwellings and man were they incredible! They were built by the Anasazi Indians and in addition to the houses built into the cliff they also had a pueblo house. It was one of the kids favorite things. They were able to run wild inside the dwellings. We were there for well over an hour watching them use their imaginations. We were the only ones there making it even better!
The kids didn't want to leave here they were having so much fun! We left and went back to Garden of the Gods so the big kids could see and play on the balancing rocks while the little ones took a nap in the car.
We had a successful second day and still had so much fun stuff planned! Not going to lie it was super exhausting but so worth it!
