I hate how I have this idea in my head of how Christmas should feel and when it is 70 degrees outside it does not feel like Christmas. :/
We started off the Christmas break by making Christmas cookies. I still remember every Christmas making them with my Mama so that is one tradition I always want to keep with them. We make the dough and frosting homemade which doesn't happen a lot here but they just don't taste as good with store bough stuff. I always let the kids frost all of them and they turn out crazy and fun with more sprinkles on each cookie than should be allowed and crazy colors.
Christmas Eve my Dad comes and eats breakfast with us and then we do the candlelight service at Church with Dylan's family followed by dinner and presents. We added in making gingerbread houses this year. It was a lot of fun and I found out that Wes and his fiance had never made gingerbread houses before! How is that possible?? Lets just say they were super focused and stayed later than everyone so they could finish it. I was quite impressed with their architecture.
Christmas morning my Mama and her bestfriend come over for breakfast and we just relax in our PJs for as long as possible until we head to Dylan's side of the family for our last Christmas.
Saturday we went to my Mom's house to celebrate with some of my sisters.
We played the new pie in the face game. I was a little skeptical at first but it was So Much Fun!
It was a perfect ending to a great Christmas. So blessed to have such amazing family. I love Christmas so much and everything that it involves but I might be a Grinch who already took down all our Christmas decorations. I like to start the new year with a fresh clean house. Looking forward to what God has in store for us in 2016.
