Muddy Sunday

I am not the Mom that loves mess. In fact most days I am yelling at the kids to pick up their mess and don't get dirty outside. Don't get wet, don't get in the sand, and definitely don't get muddy. Most days I like calm and order. I created our Homeschool Messy Monday just as much for me as for the kids. It was a day for controlled mess. I knew what I was getting into and I was prepared to clean it up.

Dylan is the opposite. The messier the better. His job is a messy job. His clothes are more often than not completely muddy and disgusting when he gets home. So to him, mess is normal. We are the perfect balance.

He often builds mud pits in the yard just for fun. For no reason other than the kids to get in and get disgusting. I love this about him. He doesn't care if the clothes are ruined, the bathrooms are a clogged muddy mess and supper is a sandwich because we spent all our time cleaning up the kids to make anything good. Its all about the memory.

This was a good memory.  One of my most favorite. We truly have JOY at the Thompson house.
