For our last Homeschool Messy Monday of the year we did a Christmas cookie decorating party. We had about 20 kids and 8 adults. We made lots of sugar cookies, had tons of icing and sprinkles and just let the kids go to town on them. Afterward the kids were able to run off all the sugar outside.
I have come to love Messy Monday. We have met and made some incredible friends. The kids range in ages and I love watching how they all interact with each other. The other moms are just as amazing. Right now we only meet up a couple times a month but I know as our kids get older and our schooling gets harder they will be an invaluable resource and place for encouragement.
A good portion of the cookies my kids made had to go straight to the trash. Apparently they thought the more icing on each cookie the better.
