So the last couple weeks have kinda gotten away from me. We have taken a step back from school and even though we still do it daily we have taken a more relaxed approach. Also my awesome friend Cari got me hooked on Nashville, so instead of doing the blog at night I stay up watching that. So thanks for that Cari!
We have been learning about water and insects the last couple weeks. We got an ant farm and the kids have loved watching the ants build tunnels. I must admit it is pretty incredible and makes me think just how incredible God is.
We have been doing lots of spider and Halloween crafts as well. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays but for some reason I haven't gotten into this year. I didn't even decorate which is really weird for me.
I figure the kids crafts can be my decorations this year. So far it has definitely made the house look more festive.
We painted pumpkins and Dylan carved a few as well. I took pictures this year instead of participate. The idea of digging out all the pumpkin guts was just not appealing this year. I guess Dylan felt the same way because he carved his and left the insides. He didn't even cut the stem off!

Carly and Claire aren't the biggest buddies and normally there is a lot of screaming when the two of them are together but lately they have become really close. They play babies and kitchen together and will stay outside playing for hours together. Makes me happy because I want them to be close. They are only 3 years apart and I have been waiting for their relationship to change. It's easy for Clay and Claire to get along because they are close in age and share a room and so they are together a lot. So when I witnessed this happening while the kids were watching a movie I had to take a picture. (It was not staged in any way!)

If you know Bear at all, then you know that she is not a people person....... yet. So taking her for her first trip to the dentist was not on my list of things I was excited for. I honestly didn't know how she was going to react and figured it would be super quick and I would have to sit in the chair with her. Well.......... I couldn't have been more wrong. Carly went first and when it was Claire's turn she climbed into the chair, put on the cool sunglasses and didn't close her mouth the whole time. I mean she sat perfectly still and let them polish and floss her teeth. I could not have been more proud! The other two didn't even do that good when they were two. The hygienist kept saying she wished she could have video tapped her to show to the teenagers.
She continues to be a rockstar in everything she does! She is also ridiculously cute... I mean seriously look at her!
Okay...okay... I know I said I didn't decorate but my Mom came over with webs and a huge spider and helped me do the front porch. Turned out super cute and now we are ready for trick or treaters tonight! We are going to stay in, eat hot dogs and hand out candy.
Happy Halloween. Can't wait to share our Trunk or Treat and Halloween pictures!
