San Saba

I have been behind in blogging lately and am so sorry! Going to try and catch up this weekend.

A couple weekends ago we took the kids to San Saba for the day. I know I have talked about it before but I seriously love this town. If it wasn't quite so far we would move there in a heartbeat.

Dylan planned the day out and we started at this awesome park that had paved sidewalks that go all throughout the park. We let the kids just run and explore.

It was so beautiful with creeks and amazing trees.

Then we took the kids to go fishing on the little creek. When I say "we" I really mean Dylan.  I did put one worm on the pole though! The kids love to fish and even though we didn't catch anything on this trip we had a great time.

Clay was loosing interest so he started exploring and found a homemade fishing pole that someone had left behind. It had a hook on it and everything. Being the little boy that he is though, he threw it in the water, so some poor kid is now without his pole.

We packed a picnic lunch and took a few minutes to rest and eat.

Then Dylan took us to Mill Pond Park which seriously if you have never been, you have to go check it out. It is this huge pond that they have added sand to the sides to create a little beach. It is free and open to everyone to swim. We were the only ones there when we got there but after about 30 minutes, people were just coming and coming.

The kids were seriously in heaven. Carly took off towards the water and fell right as she got in it and drenched herself. The water was really cold but it didn't stop the kids from playing in it with their clothes on.

It was one of those perfect days with the family. On the way home the kids even thanked Dylan for taking them without being prompted so you know they had a blast.
