World Prematurity day is coming up on November 17th and November in general is Prematurity Awareness month!!!
Our family was a whole lot luckier than a lot of other families with premature babies. Thankfully Claire's NICU stay was just so she could grow bigger and stronger. I don't want to imagine going through a NICU stay with a sick baby but unfortunately it happens all to often.
I was very fortunate that I had an amazing milk supply but there are a lot of mom's that don't produce enough especially if there child is premature. I was able to donate 300 ounces to the Mother's Milk Bank after we brought Claire home and it feels so good to know that I was able to help a mom give her baby the best. If you are a nursing mom and have extra milk, even if it is close to expiring consider donating it. It is so easy to do and they are so appreciative and wonderful.
Another great way to help is donating to the March of Dimes. While we were there we received a really awesome care package from them. It had a pink preemie outfit that said, "Preemie Donna" 3 scrapbooks to record all the NICU moments that the normal Baby books don't supply. A photo brag book, a taggie baby book etc. It was wonderful to know that your money actually goes to the families as well as research.

A little update on Claire: She qualified for the Synagis shot so we are getting them monthly through RSV season! So very happy about this. We weighed her last week when we went and she was up to 12lbs, 6 ounces!

She's a testimony that God is El Shaddai, God Almighty. Nothing is impossible for Him, she is one His miracles and a beautiful one.
