For her Birthday, which was on Saturday, we took her to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. We had just watched Madagascar for the first time recently and the kids were excited to get to met Alex the Lion and Melman the Giraffe. Carly wasn't quite as excited about the zoo as we would have hoped. She was too busy riding in the stroller eating snacks to see all the animals but Clay loved it.
After the Zoo we ate at a Mexican food restaurant before heading home to watch my Aggies kick some Alabama butt! Must say that after cheering on my Aggies for the last 11 years this was one of the proudest moments!
That evening we had a small family party with pizza and cake. At the last couple family gathering on Dylan's side, Carly has really bonded with Dylan's cousin Brooks and his wife Dana. Carly told be a couple weeks ago that she wanted Brooks to come to her party. I thought it was sweet but didn't think too much about it until she started telling people that "Mr. Potato Juice" (her weird nickname for him) was going to be coming. I knew that I must invite him for real. Both him and his wife came and I don't know if I have ever seen Carly as excited as she was when she opened the door and he was standing there. She was shaking and holding her breath smiling.
There is nothing better than seeing your child happy and I am so thankful to him for making her birthday so special. He read her and Clay books in his awesome voices. He even could do a Shrek impersonation which went over well at our house. He had a dance party with her. It was like having entertainment!
It was the perfect way to celebrate my amazing daughter.
Glad you guys had a fun day! Can't believe she is 4! She is the sweetest.
