How do you cure a turkey hangover?? Why with more turkey of course!
Every year I think to myself that it is crazy that we only eat turkey and stuffing once a year but then we probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if it was an everyday staple. I look forward to Thanksgiving for months: the food, the parade and the family. Then after it is over we have a few days of delicious leftovers which might be my favorite part. I love the turkey sandwiches and the leftover stuffing and don't get me started on the pecan pies with vanilla ice cream. I am gaining another 2 pounds just writing about it!
So to get our Thanksgiving story right we have to start with the parade. Growing up it was always my favorite part. I loved watching all the floats and the singing and dancing. Then I was always told that the Santa on the float was the one true Santa and that he comes out only once a year at the Macy's parade. To this day I still find the Macy's Santa to be incredible. I love sharing and passing on this tradition with my kids. Carly was really into it this year and loved everything. We had already started eating lunch when Santa came on and seeing her face when she saw him just made my day. I love looking at the holidays through the eyes of a child. So innocent and magical.
Then onto the food: Wow I can't tell you how much I love my mom's Thanksgiving lunch. I haven't missed one in 29 years and I make myself sick every year. There is something so simple yet perfect about her stuffing and I can't get enough of it. Good thing she made me my very own batch to take home. Love that woman!
Now the most important part- The family:
This is the one day a year that we get to sit back and really enjoy our family. Take time to be thankful for them. Everyone is so busy most of the time that dedicated this day to them is so wonderful. Unfortunately my family doesn't necessarily have the same thought that I do but Dylan's does! After spending time with my mom and my second parents we went to Dylan's Aunts house and spent the rest of the afternoon over there with all his aunts and uncles and cousins. It is always a great time and the kids have so much fun all day.

We are obviously all out of leftovers now but 3 days worth of them still left me wanting a little more. Already looking forward to next year. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
