We have a homeschool group here in the Hill Country that gets together almost everyday for something. Obviously not everyone goes to everything but there are options and events almost daily for people to participate in. We have only been able to go to the Valentines Day party because most stuff happens during Claire's nap time but I saw this post for next weeks park day and it just made me smile and get excited about the future with this group.
"The FOOD FIGHT will take place in the yard at 1:00. Please bring as much as you can of any of the food items listed below. No other food or non-food items will be allowed in the food fight. Make sure to label any containers you need returned. We will have several tables spread out with the food so the more you can bring the better!

**For those of you concerned about us wasting food, just enjoy the moment! We will have a food drive at another parkday to benefit our local food banks.**"
OK seriously is that not the most fun ever! Seriously sad that we can't go, but hopefully I will have already had the baby. They seriously do awesome fun stuff like this weekly.
On another note we have been trying to stay focused so we can take off some time after Clint gets here. I plan on doing school year round and just taking off random weeks here and there for breaks and vacations. We already switched grades here and Carly has started 1st grade and Clay is officially doing Kindergarten. Claire mostly plays and occasionally we do little unit studies that she can participate in. The kids have been screaming about all the bees that are around our peach tree in the back yard, so we decided to do a little unit on them.
It was really fun and each kid had something to contribute that was on their level.
A friend told me about this awesome game called "Sum Swamp," that helps with basic one digit addition and subtraction. I bought it and we seriously have to play it daily. The kids love it and I love that it helps them learn. I give Clay counters to help him but Carly has to figure it out on her own. It has really been helpful and I even enjoy playing it.
Tuesday, at library story time we had Western Day! The kids were so excited to dress up for it.
A couple weeks ago my Dad brought us these old barrel train cars. They both needed some paint and one needed tires. That night when Dylan got home from work he immediately started working on them and has them both up and running. He has them both painted, one red and one blue. The kids love it!
Look at those happy faces. Clint is so lucky to be joining this crew.
Last, Clay found his first real frog. We have only caught toads and honestly don't think I have seen a real frog in a long time. Well Clay caught one and him and Dylan built it a little habitat. Unfortunately, frogs are incredible jumpers and the next morning it had escaped. He was pretty heart broken.
Every day is an adventure at our house.
Say some prayers that our next adventure is having a baby because I am so ready!!!!!!!! :)
