A few months ago Clay started digging a hole in the backyard. When Dylan got home he asked him what he was doing and Clay said, "digging a hole to China." Dylan decided to help him and the two of them would randomly go out there and dig. The best part was the day Clay got all dressed and packed a backpack with extra clothes before he went out there because once they got to China he would need new clothes cause his would be dirty from digging. Love how four year olds think.
Anyways they ended up making a huge hole and instead of just putting the dirt back in, Dylan packed it with cinder blocks and decided to make a fire pit. It took a couple months to finish it but I love how it turned out. We finally got grass put around it a couple weekends ago.
We built a fire in it for the first time and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. The kids had a blast.
We are slowly getting our backyard the way we want it. One project at a time!

Our library had a bookmark contest where you had to design a bookmark about a book, superhero or something that had to do with reading. Carly based her's on the Frozen theme and drew a picture of Elsa holding a book and wrote, "Freeze time with a good book." It turned out really cute.
Well, we found out Friday that she won!!! She got a Dr. Seuss bag and free sonic ice cream. The best part is they are going to print up her bookmark and hand them out at the library. So proud of her and her creativity and hard work.
