So I told you we were trying to hatch chickens using an incubator and as of yesterday morning I still had not seen any real activity and was seriously so upset. We have about 17 eggs and I just knew that we would have at least a few chickens. Yesterday was the 21st day and I had pretty much given up that they were going to hatch.
Last night while cooking dinner I started hearing a little pecking sound and found that one of the eggs had a tiny hole in it! I just knew that it was going to hatch over night and the kids weren't going to get to see it actually happen.
Luckily when we woke up it was still inside the egg. The kids all got to actually watch it break out of the egg! Most exciting thing to happen this year. I might have been more excited than the kids...... just a little.
So introducing the newest member of our family..... Sammy the Chicken! Isn't he/she the cutest thing ever! So in love with him.
My Dad brought a new incubator and some more eggs over today and we are going to try one more time to get a few more!
