I have come to realize that birthdays are never just one day events. My mom came over Friday night to hang with us while Dylan worked late and decided to bring Carly her present early. She got a pretty incredible princess watch that lights up.
Then Saturday instead of doing a big party we let Carly pick an activity and a friend to do it with. She chose her BFF Kayden and getting mani/pedis.
Then we ate lunch on the Square. We got there just in time because 30 minutes after we got there the train pulled into town and people were coming in by the bus loads.
We ended the night with a family party with Grandparents and our Burnet besties. Carly was smiling the whole time. She helped me make her cake, she requested chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I love how as an adult we put so much pressure on ourselves for things to be perfect or "pinterest worthy," but to a 6 year old, anything Mom makes is amazing. She was so happy and couldn't wait to show everyone my mediocre cake.
Monday for her actual birthday we met my sister Amy (who is her bday buddy) and my nieces at Gattiland for lunch and then out for our traditional birthday yogurt.
This time Carly was tall enough to ride the bumper cars all by herself. She was pretty excited.
They were so worn out after eating, play games and then yogurt that they all passed out cold in the car on the way home.
That night Uncle Moose came over for hotdogs and gave Carly an Elsa dress. Do you see both her and Claire's faces.... priceless. She was so excited!
It immediately went on!
Best Uncle Ever!
Well if you can't tell, she had the best birthday and is pretty darn spoiled with lots of love. So thankful for such incredible family and friends and the most amazing 6 year old daughter.
