Back to the Boring

A lot has been happening over here at the Thompson House.......OK actually nothing at all is happening.   We have seriously been just at the house. I think I might have stepped outside 3 times in the last week. Pretty pathetic.

July 4th was a great day. My goal was to be out of the hospital for Independence Day.  I even joked with one of the nurses that I was going to sign a form saying that I was taking her against hospital advice. Then she informed me that insurance wouldn't pay for any of our stay then so it might not have been my best idea. (I would never actually do that of course) Anyways we stayed home, at amazing leftovers brought over by our good friends the night before and just relaxed. We could hear and I think see the fireworks that Leander was doing at the HEB from our house, but we didn't even go outside to enjoy it. The kids were in bed by 7:30, looking forward to the day that the kids can stay up past their bedtimes and not be bears the next day so that we can enjoy fireworks.

Love this one!

A lot of people started coming this week to visit and meet Claire. It is so nice to be able to introduce her to friends and family and Carly and Clay are really enjoying all the attention as well. A couple of my mom's best friends came over and one of them taught Carly ballet. She always is dancing around the house and even has some tap shoes that don't fit her anymore that she still uses. We have been asking her what she wants to do because we are thinking of enrolling her in something for the fall or spring.  I always thought it would be dance or gymnastics cause that is all she talks about. Then the other night we were watching the Swimming Olympic Trials and she now wants to do swimming. So looks like we will be enrolling in Nitro here soon.

You wanna know the best thing about your kids getting older??!! Fun stuff like Hide-n-seek and boards games.  Both kids love to play Hide-n-seek and Dylan is usually the one who ends up having to play it with them.  This is where I found them the other afternoon. Looks pretty uncomfortable for Dylan but the kids had a blast. I think he had to hide there the rest of the game and if he didn't the kids would get upset. So hilarious.
Now that Claire is a month old I figured it was time to start treating her like one. She still sleeps almost all day so sometimes I forget that she is older than she is. We got the play mat out today and let her enjoy the jungle for a few minutes. We even did some tummy time which she was not a fan of.

Life is good! Hope everyone had a great July 4th!
