For her birthday she wanted to get her ears pierced. You just never know how that is going to go. We tried to prepare her the best we could for the pain. She was so brave though. Not a whimper or a frown came across her face. She smiled through the whole thing. Must have been having her Dad hold her hand that made it all OK. :)
Our neighbors were out of town and very graciously allowed us to use their pool. As soon as we got home we swam the rest of the evening. I must say it was an awesome 5th birthday for her.
Since one of Claire's favorite things in the world to do is swing, we just hand to get her a huge tree swing. I have to say it is a success. All the kids love it but not as much as Bear.
That night we had breakfast for dinner and ate Strawberry cake with ice cream.
Pretty sure this picture is proof that Dylan cheated and helped her blow out her candles!! |
I always thought you had to have a big party for things to be special. I didn't want to deprive them of great memories of their special day. I have found though, that the quiet is even better. There is no stress, no clean up and no presents to take away from what the day is really about....thanking God for sending us the best blessing in the world.
