Happy Birthday Bear

So our little itty bitty tiny baby Bear turned 4 this weekend. It has been so fun watching her grow over the last few years. She use to be the most shy kid. She wouldn't let anyone hold her, talk to her and would cry in large crowds. She once even pushed the librarian away and told her to, "get." You now can't shut her up. The child loves people and loves to talk.

Here are my favorite things about Bear.

  1. She walks on her toes. Not just your average tip toe either, like walks on the outside of her toes not the pad. She is destined to be a ballerina. Even goes so far as to wearing a tutu constantly around the house.
  2. Loves to play dollies. Her favorite thing is to play with her barbies.  She could sit on her floor for hours and play with them. She has been asking for Princes for her Princesses forever now and finally got them for her birthday. We now have the Beast, Eric and even Aladdin. The may or may not get into some pretty big fights over the girls.
  3. I call her popcorn: She literally jumps around while walking, jumps on the furniture and jumps on us. She is like popcorn in the bag. Just popping everywhere.
  4. PBJ: She could seriously eat a PBJ sandwich for every single meal and she has to have a straw with all her drinks.
  5. Hair: She has the most amazing curly hair. I am hoping that it doesn't change one day because it is seriously so beautiful.
  6. Loves school: She loves to do big kid school like her brother and sister. She is a smart little cookie too.

For her and Clint's birthday we had a tie dye-splash bash in the backyard. We even celebrated with her cousin Missy Drew who was turning 19. All her little friends came and we had a great time. It was a great excuse to just relax and play with our friends.

So I still get emotional when I think of Bear and the day she was born. Not sure I will ever fully get over it. So much of who I am today is because of that experience. She really was a miracle baby for Dylan and I and we are so thankful that God used that experience to get our attention but also allowed us to bring home a healthy baby. I got a sweet text from one of the other NICU moms on her birthday. She told me how she had been in the NICU with her own babies when Claire was brought in and she prayed for her. So thankful for her and so thankful that God placed her in that room to pray for my baby when I couldn't. Even more thankful that I still call her my friend today and our babies will get to grow up together. Just so darn thankful that I just sit and cry sometimes.

God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!
