New House

So we finally moved into our new house!! After a couple weeks of doing repairs, painting and putting in new floors the day has finally arrived. We still have work to do but the house is now livable.

I couldn't be more happy with this house. It is everything I could have wanted and I can't wait to really start making it our own. I wanted to share some of the before/after pictures.


This is our LIVING ROOM. We left the wood paneling for now. We might paint it in the future but for now are going to love the wood. :) This is my most favorite room in the whole house. I LOVE the fire place and can not wait for Christmas in this house!

We pulled out the carpet, put in new floors, and changed out the old light/fan fixtures. 

 CARLY'S ROOM

We replaced the carpet, took out the old curtains and rod and painted the walls. I also took off the closet doors and added the curtains. We chalkboard painted her door and now I am in love with her room. 

CLAY AND CLAIRES ROOM

We didn't have to change much about this room, other than to clean it and put in the new carpet. I love the wood paneling on the bottom and so far the two of them sharing a room has been great. 

MASTER BEDROOM

The carpet in here was brand new so we didn't really change anything other than take down the old curtains.  This room is significantly bigger than our old house and I LOVE having more space! We also each have our own HUGE closet. 

DINING ROOM

I hate wallpaper BUT this was not all that awful. We still decided to paint over it and we changed out the old chandelier for a more modern light fixture. 

KITCHEN

Not much changed from the kitchen other than cleaning everything, putting in the new floor and getting a new dishwasher. I love the setup of the Kitchen and one day hope to paint the cabinets a fun color.  I would love to do (and I really mean hire someone) a rustic red. Also want to put in a fun backsplash.  We keep telling ourselves this is a long term project. Just gonna do a little at a time.  

LAUNDRY ROOM

The laundry room was the worst room in the house. It is a room in the garage and was super dirty and the walls were just awful. I decided to make it my Aggie Room. My friend Corinne came over and helped me paint it one Saturday and I am in love with how it turned out. We also replaced the old toilet with a new one. I am going to put pictures up of my kids in their Aggie gear eventually.

The pictures didn't turn out that great. Makes it look much darker than it really is. 

 KIDS BATHROOM

So I am not a very big fan of the crazy lillypad, mushroom wallpaper, or the green toilet or the awful carpet in the bathroom. I mean who puts carpet in the bathroom??? So far we have changed all the fixtures, replaced the toilet, painted and put in new floors. 

Did I mention we also have the most amazing backyard!?! We have 2 storage buildings and some awesome trees. 

We are currently taking the sides off of a little storage building that was attached to the garage so that we have a covered patio in the back. I can already see how great it is going to be. One day we want to expand it further down the house but for now it is perfect. 

Every night Dylan and I sit back and are so excited, happy and feel so blessed to have this house for our kids to grow up in. From the town to the neighborhood and the people around us we couldn't have lucked into a better deal.
