Two years ago is when it started. Clay, as a 4 year old kept asking about baptism. Wanted to know everything about it and what it means. A year later he accepted Christ as his Savior. The baptism questions continued until we felt like we had to act on them. I felt like he was too young but a pastor in town gave me some really great advice and so we started making plans for him. Carly followed soon after. We knew there could be nothing better than having the kids Pops do the actual baptism and then to have it at his Uncles house on the lake would make it even better.
Our really good friends also made the decision and so were baptized right along with them. It was seriously the most incredible day. The weather was perfect, the water was calm and we were surrounded by our favorite people.
I am still having a hard time coming up with the right words to use. Overjoyed, blessed, thankful, amazed. God is just so so good.
After the baptism we stayed and played in the water for a little while. Clay had jumped off the second story of the dock last year and was quick to do it again. Finally right before we left Carly got up the courage to jump. She did it twice and loved it. Clay's best friend Connor came to celebrate with him and play. His mom also happens to be Carly's Sunday School teacher so it was extra special.
The kids got some super sweet gifts given to them and were surrounded by all the people that have helped them get to where they are.
"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for them!!
