Dylan has been home since Monday recovering from knee surgery and I won't lie, it has been surprisingly wonderful getting to spend time together. I wasn't sure if it was going to be hard having a break in the kids normal routine but they have adapted well. Every night the kids will ask Dylan, "Are you staying when I wake up" and normally he has to tell them, "No I am going to work" to which Clay responds, "Aww Man!" It has been refreshing to see the joy on their faces when he gets to tell them yes.
Just some stuff we have been doing this week:
Claire got to take a bath with the big kids for the first time. She is still not 100% steady sitting but is doing so good and since it is so much easier to throw them all in, I decided to give it a try. She did great and the big kids were really good with her in there with them.
Clay is still obsessed with hats and is passing it on to Claire. He got this hat last year at the Rodeo and it is way to small for him but he still wears it and has started sharing with his sister. He also inherited this superman costume from our neighbor and his adorable pink shoes courtesy of his sister.
He even shares his hats with Claire. What a great big bro. She might be the cutest cowgirl yet.
We went for a walk to the mailbox this week and Carly was so excited to get to walk the whole way while Claire took her spot in the wagon. Claire loved her first wagon ride. I am so excited to see Clay get to take the role as big brother because I think he is going to be amazing, considering he is getting to learn from the best.
We had put up half of the kids Christmas presents and started getting a few out this week. The kids got to play Hi-Ho-Cherrio for the first time and they both loved it. Thank you Mimi & Pops!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Weekend. Looking forward to one more week of having Dylan home before real life starts again.
